Supplier of the Week: Petite Friture

Petite Friture is our Supplier of the Week;  25 – 31 July.

Established in 2009, this fast growing supplier is going from strength to strength with their furniture that is suitable for both commercial and residential interiors. They work with emerging names within the industry to bring you fresh and exciting designs.

We spoke with the team to find out more.

What’s the story behind Petite Friture?

PETITE FRITURE is an Éditeur de design, founded in 2009 and run by Amelie du Passage. Through its original collaborations with designers coming from various fields PETITE FRITURE thrives on the need to give new life to products, places and moments that are beautiful, light and delicate. All of this is tempered with the same spirit and created with the same demanding levels of results.

What makes your products unique?

At PETITE FRITURE we have a taste for emerging and audacious creation that bypasses frontiers and arouses emotion. And a conviction: creation has no worth unless it is shared.

In order for you to discover the talents that we are so passionate about, PETITE FRITURE invites you into a surprising experience with the will to make you smile.

All of our products are manufactured in Europe, seeking the best quality: glass in Poland, porcelain in France, wood in France, metal in Romania, …

Nubilo Sofa & Nubuilo Armchair feature a variety of materials and come in multiple colours

What’s the most important part of your process?

To be honest, each step is important: from the process with the designers to get to the accurate design, then with the manufacturers and finally with our dealers. That’s the challenge of an editor, building a network of great partners all the way though, that are the perfect ambassadors of the brand !

What projects have your lights been used in recently?

The interior project for Delight Yoga by the Loft took place in their favourite city: The Hague. The open floor-plan and the vast windows facing quiet gardens make it one of the most serene interiors, according to the architects. And despite it being right in the heart of the city, it is the perfect place to retreat from all the hustle and bustle. For Petite Friture, it’s always a pleasure to see the Vertigo lamps’ lightness enhanced by such a project. We can feel a very strong and peaceful atmosphere.

François Combaud in collaboration with Artim agency signed a beautiful project for the Clinique du Parc in Montpelier : a great use of our Lanterna suspensions designed by Sam Baron.

What can we expect to see in the coming year?

The creation of urban moments to share. It is in this spirit that we are launching next September a new range: tableware.

This new range, in which the first collection is signed by Färg & Blanche, is created in cobranding with REVOL. The collection will be presented in a mise en scene conceived by the culinary designer Studio Appétit which will be shown in cafes in which we are taking a pop-up artistic direction. Following this the tableware collection will be integrated in our distribution channels.

Finally, tell us about the last time you found a place / object / experience really inspiring?

Working with all the designers from different fields for this September collection: product designers and food designers all contributed to make this moment crazy and surprising. Bon appetit!
