Supplier of the Week: Normann Copenhagen

Normann Copenhagen is our Supplier of the Week 20 - 26 February.

That lightbulb moment

Normann Copenhagen was set up by Danish founders, Poul and Jan, in 1999 with a vision to bring something new and unexpected to the world of design. It started as a small store in Copenhagen seeking designer products from different brands, as well as some of their own creations.

This all changed however when they discovered the Norm 69 Lamp by Simon Karkov in 2001 and decided to put it into production, creating the Normann Copenhagen we see today.

A collection of award-winning designs

Normann Copenhagen is as a producer working with many exciting designers to create their pieces, so it is no wonder that they have a number of awards under their belt.

Their latest award came this year for the Ace collection, designed by Hans Hornemann, from the iF Design Awards 2017. Ace is a collection that combines comfort, style, flexibility and accessibility, making it perfect for those in smaller spaces. The flat-packed collection was inspired by Hornemann's own experience of living in smaller city apartments.

The magnetic Acrobat Table Lamp by Marc Venot was also awarded in the German Design Awards after nearly three years of design development.

And last year the Tap Stool and the Form Collection, both designed by Simon Legald, also won German Design Awards.
