Highlights from Milan Design Week 2016

We spent last week at Milan Design Week, where, as well as searching out fantastic new designers and brands (watch out for these next week) we also visited many of our wonderful existing suppliers. Here is an express round-up of some of our suppliers who we were particularly impressed with at the event.

The Slamp space was full of admirers at the Wallpaper Handmade Arcade for the launch of La Traviata by Robert Wilson. During the days of the Salone they also presented their lavish Aria Gold collection designed by the late Zaha Hadid.

Norr11 created an interactive exhibition by using their core collection to create a pop up showroom / co-working space in the Tortona district:

Munna were showing a new range of beautifully upholstered chairs and sofas with stunning attention to detail, as ever. Their Newman Seat and Sofa in particular were big hits:

Moroso had a characteristically impressive stand, designed by Patricia Urquiola, which used vast panels of translucent fabric throughout. Visitors were particularly attracted to Front’s highly original Trincilium sofa and Doshi&Levien’s billowing Armanda chair:

Incipit Lab showed off their fabulous collections at two pop up stores in the city. Their most successful project was probably their ceiling lamp, Agata. Visitors loved the versatility of the product, as well as the colour and shape options:

Roche Bobois had a beautifully colourful stand where they previewed pieces from their upcoming autumn-winter 2016 collection. They also celebrated their Mah Jong sofa, designed in 1971 by Hans Hopfer, by projecting an excellently choreographed cinema commercial on their back wall:

MG12 were based in their Milan showroom, showing off their new collection. Their clear winner was the Gregorio table: A timeless design for a dining table, made with classics materials:

L’abbate’s stand was as clean and elegant as ever, which exhibited a range of beautifully finished products from both new and old collections. Their Tivoli collection, introducing the new lounge chair, seemed to be the most popular:

Please note, not all of these new and exciting designs are in production yet; connect to these suppliers now to get your trade account set up and see when they've added new collections.
